Pakistan team pacer Hassan Ali led his team Warwickshire from the front against Essex in the County Championship Division One.
Warwickshire beat Essex by four wickets thanks to Ali's all-round performance and good support from his bowling partner Chris Rushworth.
Ali and Rushworth picked up four wickets each in the second innings to restrict Essex to a lead of 99 runs.
It was a brilliant bowling spell by the two bowlers which helped Warwickshire take a grip on the match after they were bowled out for 242 runs with a first-innings lead of 116 runs.
Ali also contributed to Warwickshire's batting in the first innings, scoring crucial 53 runs laced with four boundaries and as many sixes. His knock helped his team reach 242 runs in reply to 126.
Ali is currently in the United Kingdom with his family to play county championship. He last represented Pakistan in an international match earlier this year at home. It was a Test match against New Zealand in Karachi.
The right-arm pacer aims Pakistan team's comeback in the near future. He has so far bagged 17 wickets in four matches this county season.
Last year in November, Warwickshire signed the pacer for first four months of the championship. He will be playing the T20 Blast, including the knockout stages, and County Championship fixtures until the end of July.
Previously, Ali represented Lancashire in the early stages of the 2022 County Championship. He took 25 wickets at 20.60 including two five-wicket hauls.
Ali, who represented Pakistan in 22 Tests, 60 ODIs, and 50 T20Is, will be available to the national team during his county season stint. If he gets selected in Pakistan team for the ICC Test Championship fixtures against Sri Lanka in July, he will travel to join the national team.
